The Leica CM1950 is the latest generation of cryostats from Leica Microsystems, designed and developed based on user feedback and their requirements for high quality sections, user safety and efficient laboratory workflow.
The CM1950 platform combines precise microtome mechanics with optional motorized sectioning, a stable specimen clamp system and the CryoZone™ cooling zone for consistent, high‑quality cuts. Ergonomic design features rounded edges, glare‑free illumination and easy‑access controls to reduce user fatigue.
Safety is enhanced by certified UVC surface disinfection, AgProtect™ antimicrobial nanosilver coating and an optional vacuum‑assisted waste removal system with HEPA filtration. Optional accessories such as an actively cooled object head, motorized sectioning and color‑coded specimen discs further improve efficiency and specimen handling.
