AD760 is a 16/18-bit self-calibrating serial/byte DACPORT device introduced by Analog Devices in 1995.
The AD760 is a complete 16/18‑bit self‑calibrating monolithic DAC (DACPORT®) that includes an on‑chip voltage reference, double‑buffered latches and an output amplifier. It supports serial or byte input, allows daisy‑chaining of multiple devices, and offers both unipolar and bipolar output configurations.
The device provides up to 18‑bit resolution in serial mode, low total harmonic distortion (+0.005 % THD+N), and a range of specifications for power, timing, and electrical characteristics suitable for industrial control, instrumentation, and precision analog applications.
| Resolution | 16/18 Bits |
|---|---|
| Integral Nonlinearity (with Calibration) | ±0.2 LSB (±0.00031 %) |
| Differential Nonlinearity (with Calibration) | ±0.2 LSB (±0.00031 %) |
| Unipolar Output Voltage Range | 0 V to +10 V |
| Bipolar Output Voltage Range | -10 V to +10 V |
| Power Dissipation (Static, No Load) | 600 mW typical, 725 mW max |
| Output Current | 5 mA |
| THD+N | 0.005 % |
Self‑calibration is started by pulling the CAL pin low, and the CALOK pin goes high when calibration has completed.
Data can be loaded as straight binary, serial data, or two 8‑bit bytes; serial mode supports 16‑ or 18‑bit data.
The AD760 can be configured for a unipolar 0 V to +10 V range or a bipolar –10 V to +10 V range.
