The AD420 is a 16-bit, serial input, 4 mA–20 mA, 0 mA–20 mA or 0 mA–24 mA current output DAC with ±0.012% max integral nonlinearity, ±0.05% max offset (trimmable) and ±0.15% max total output error (trimmable).
The AD420 is a single‑chip digital‑to‑current‑loop converter designed for industrial control. It offers 16‑bit resolution, selectable current ranges (4‑20 mA, 0‑20 mA, 0‑24 mA) and a flexible 3.3 Mbps serial interface that can operate in 3‑wire or asynchronous mode.
The device is supplied in 24‑lead SOIC or PDIP packages, operates from 12 V to 32 V, and includes on‑chip reference, fault detection, and an optional external boost transistor for high‑temperature or high‑voltage applications.
