The AS168X is a high-performance thermal magnetic CBE that is able to dramatically reduce the through current during short-circuit tripping. The series is available in versions with one to four protected poles that can be used in AC or DC networks. Multipole CBEs are mechanically connected internally and at the toggle lever to ensure simultaneous switching. This also applies to a combination with the switchable neutral pole. Cleverly designed Lift terminals on the input and output side enable convenient grid and load connection. The terminals are suitable for connecting conductors with a cross section of 1.5 to 25 mm2 (AWG #16.4). The AS168X can be used as a device protection switch according to UL 1077 / EN 60934 or as a motor protection switch according to UL 508 or CSA 22.2 14. The switch is therefore versatile and suitable for the following functions: • Motor overload protection (thermal and magnetic) • Motor starting across-the-line (direct-on-line) • Motor starting with motor disconnect (cos phi 0,4 – 0,5) • Motor group installation (short capacity 5 kA) • Control circuits
