This document is an important notice informing customers that Philips Semiconductors has been renamed NXP Semiconductors, and provides new contact details. The document also describes the features and applications of the BB202 product.
The BB202 is a low‑voltage variable capacitance diode offered in an ultra‑small SOD523 surface‑mount package. It features a very steep C/V curve with C0.2 ≈ 30.5 pF, C2.3 ≈ 9.5 pF and a minimum capacitance ratio of 2.5, as well as very low series resistance.
Typical applications include electronic tuning in FM radios and voltage‑controlled oscillators. The datasheet lists absolute maximum ratings, electrical characteristics such as a continuous reverse voltage of 6 V and forward current of 10 mA, and provides graphical data for capacitance versus reverse voltage and temperature.
| Capacitance at 0.2 V | 30.5 pF |
|---|---|
| Capacitance at 2.3 V | 9.5 pF |
| Capacitance ratio (C0.2/C2.3) | ≥ 2.5 |
| Continuous reverse voltage (Ve) | 6 V |
| Continuous forward current (Ir) | 10 mA |
| Storage temperature range | -55 °C to +85 °C |
| Operating junction temperature range | 55 °C to +85 °C |
The BB202 is supplied in an ultra‑small SOD523 surface‑mount plastic package.
At 0.2 V the capacitance is about 30.5 pF and at 2.3 V about 9.5 pF.
The diode can tolerate a continuous reverse voltage of up to 6 V.
It is intended for electronic tuning in FM radios and for voltage‑controlled oscillators (VCO).
