About this manual

The SAA7124 and SAA7125 are monolithic CMOS 5 V devices that encode digital YUV video data to NTSC or PAL CVBS, RGB, S‑Video or CVBS outputs. They accept MPEG‑decoded data on an 8‑bit wide CCIR656‑compatible input and provide optional YUV‑to‑RGB dematrixing.

Key specifications include a 13.5 MHz system pixel frequency, four DACs (10‑bit CVBS, 9‑bit RGB), programmable I²C‑bus control, and optional Macrovision copy‑protection for the SAA7124. The devices are offered in LQFP64, QFP80 and PLCC84 packages and are intended for non‑life‑support applications.
