The 74AC74 is a high-performance CMOS dual D-type flip-flop with preset and clear functions. The device is fabricated with sub-micron silicon gate and double-layer metal wiring C2MOS technology, which makes it faster and more power-efficient. When the clock pulse makes a positive transition, the D input signal is transferred to the Q and Q outputs. Preset and clear are independent of the clock and are achieved by setting a low level on the appropriate input. All inputs and outputs are equipped with static discharge protection circuits, which provide 2KV ESD immunity and transient excess voltage protection.
