The TFDU4101 is a Vishay Semiconductors infrared transceiver module for IrDA data communication, supporting IrDA speeds up to 115.2 kbit/s (SIR) as well as carrier based remote control modes. A photo pin diode, an infrared emitter (IRED) and a low-power control IC are integrated in one surface-mount package measuring L 9.7 mm × W 4.7 mm × H 4.0 mm, and the device operates from 2.4 V to 5.5 V over a temperature range of -30 °C to +85 °C.
The datasheet gives the pin description and functional block diagram, absolute maximum ratings, eye safety information, electrical and optoelectronic characteristics, a truth table, a typical application circuit and a current derating diagram. It also lists applications such as printers, fax machines, photocopiers, notebook and desktop PCs, PDAs, data loggers and kiosks, plus the tape-and-reel part options TFDU4101-TR3 for side view and TFDU4101-TT3 for top view surface mounting, both 1000 pcs per reel.
