This document introduces the features and characteristics of CTS's 15/16-inch (24 mm) diameter 1/2 watt composition variable resistors. These resistors feature low cost, multiple mounting styles, wide resistance range, molded/metal shaft & bushing, pull-push, push-push and rotary power switches, shaft and bushing waterseal, rear extended shaft, single, tandem or concentric constructions, special vernier adjust (multiturn) construction available for fine adjustment and long life construction.
The CTS 450 Series variable resistors offer a low‑cost, versatile solution with multiple mounting styles such as bushing, twist tab, snap‑in PC bracket, and solder lug. They provide a wide resistance range from 100 Ω to 10 MΩ with linear taper, and special long‑life constructions up to 5 MΩ.
The series includes various shaft and bushing options, RoHS‑compliant models, and detailed electrical ratings such as up to 1080 VAC for standard constructions and 750 VDC maximum operating voltage. Power switches are available in multiple configurations, and extensive dimensional data are provided for each mounting style.
