This document describes the features and characteristics of Analog Devices' ADN4604 Rev. 0 digital crosspoint switch product, including the data rate per port, programmable receive equalization, programmable transmit preemphasis/deemphasis, low power consumption, 16×16 nonblocking array, etc.
The ADN4604 is a 16 × 16 asynchronous, protocol‑agnostic digital crosspoint switch with fully differential PECL/CML‑compatible inputs and outputs. It operates from a 3.3 V supply, offers programmable receive equalization and transmit pre‑emphasis, and provides low jitter (typically 20 ps) and low channel‑to‑channel skew.
Typical applications include high‑speed serial backplane routing, fiber‑optic network switching, Gigabit Ethernet, Fibre Channel, InfiniBand, and digital video interfaces such as HDMI and DisplayPort. The device is controlled via an I²C‑compatible or SPI serial interface and is supplied in a 100‑lead TQFP package.
