About this manual

The MAX3380E and MAX3381E are dual‑channel RS‑232 transceivers that operate from +2.35 V to +5.5 V and feature a low‑power AutoShutdown Plus mode that reduces supply current to 1 µA when idle. They provide ±15 kV ESD protection on all I/O pins and include a separate logic‑level supply (V L) for flexible interfacing.

The devices are supplied in a 20‑pin TSSOP package, support data rates up to 460 kbps (MAX3380E) or 250 kbps (MAX3381E), and operate over a wide temperature range. Detailed pin descriptions, electrical characteristics, timing diagrams, and ESD test information are provided.
