About this manual

The DS2780 fuel‑gauge IC operates from 2.5 V to 5.5 V and supports single‑cell lithium‑ion and lithium‑polymer batteries. It measures voltage, temperature and current, stores cell characteristics in on‑chip EEPROM, and estimates remaining capacity in mAh and percent.

Communication is provided via a Dallas 1‑Wire interface with standard (16 kbps) and over‑drive (140 kbps) modes, and the device includes a unique 64‑bit registration number for traceability. Two power modes (ACTIVE and SLEEP) allow the IC to conserve energy when the battery is idle.
