This document describes the features and characteristics of Vishay BCcomponents Power Metal Film Resistors, including high power in small packages, different lead materials for different applications, defined interruption behavior, lead-free solder contacts, pure tin plating, compatibility with RoHS directive, etc. The product consists of a homogeneous film of metal alloy deposited on a high grade ceramic body, with a helical groove in the resistive layer and tinned connecting wires of electrolytic copper or copper-clad iron. The resistors are coated with a red, nonflammable lacquer for electrical, mechanical, and climatic protection. The product is suitable for all general purpose power applications.
