3M EC Series Cold Shrink End Caps environmentally seal and mechanically protect exposed cable ends using no tools, mastics or tapes.
The 3M Cold Shrink EC-Series End Caps are close‑ended, tubular rubber sleeves that are factory expanded onto a removable core. When the core is removed after the cap is positioned over a cable or other cylindrical object, the material shrinks to form a reliable, water‑resistant seal that protects against moisture, contamination, corrosion, ozone, UV radiation and physical contact.
Installation requires no tools, flame or grease: the supporting core is unwound and removed, allowing the cap to shrink into place. The caps can be removed cleanly with a utility knife, leaving no adhesive residue. They are available in four sizes (EC‑1 to EC‑4) covering diameters from 11.6 mm to 84.3 mm and offer good abrasion, fungus, acid, alkali and ozone resistance.
