National Semiconductor LM1896/LM2896 Dual Audio Power Amplifier Datasheet

LM1896 and LM2896 are high-performance 6V stereo power amplifiers that can deliver 1 watt per channel or 2 watts bridged monaural power. It utilizes a unique patented compensation scheme and is ideal for sensitive AM radio applications. The amplifier has a wide supply range of 3V–9V, making it suitable for battery operation. The LM2896 is available for higher supply voltages (greater than 9V). The product features low AM radiation, low noise, low distortion, no turn-on 'pop' sound, adjustable voltage gain and bandwidth, and smooth waveform clipping. It is suitable for compact AM-FM radios, stereo tape recorders and players, and high-power portable stereos.
