This document describes the features and characteristics of the 14-bit, 8-channel, 250 kSPS PulSAR ADC AD7949, including resolution, multiplexer, input selection, input range, reference voltage types, temperature sensor, channel sequencer, filter, interface compatibility, power dissipation, and package.
The AD7949 is a 14‑bit, 8‑channel successive‑approximation register (SAR) analog‑to‑digital converter. It operates from a single supply (1.8 V to 5.5 V) and offers selectable internal references of 2.5 V or 4.096 V, a one‑pole filter, and a channel sequencer. Throughput reaches 250 kSPS at 5 V supply, with power dissipation as low as 10.8 mW.
Typical applications include multichannel data‑acquisition systems, medical instrumentation such as ECG/EKG, GPS multiplexing, and seismic data acquisition. The device is supplied in a 20‑lead LFCSP package and is rated for operation from –40 °C to +85 °C.
