AD7689 is a 16-bit, 8-channel, 250 kSPS PulSAR® ADC from ADI with 16-bit resolution, no missing codes, 8-channel multiplexer, single-supply 2.7V-5.5V operation, 1.8V-5V logic interface, SPI®/QSPI™/MICROWIRE™/DSP compatible serial interface.
The AD7689 is an 8‑channel, 16‑bit successive‑approximation register (SAR) analog‑to‑digital converter that operates from a single 2.5 V‑5.5 V supply. It integrates a true 16‑bit SAR core, an 8‑channel multiplexer, an internal selectable 2.5 V or 4.096 V reference, a temperature sensor, a 1‑pole filter and a sequencer for continuous channel scanning. Communication is provided via a simple SPI interface with a separate VIO supply.
The device is offered in a compact 20‑lead LFCSP package (4 mm × 4 mm) and is specified for operation from –40 °C to +85 °C. It is suited for battery‑powered equipment, medical instruments, mobile communications, data acquisition, seismic systems, instrumentation and process control applications. Layout recommendations emphasize separation of analog and digital sections, proper decoupling of power and reference pins, and the use of ground planes to minimize noise coupling.
