About this manual

The AD7656-1, AD7657-1, and AD7658-1 are pin‑ and software‑compatible, reduced‑decoupling versions of the AD7656/AD7657/AD7658 family. Each device contains six independent ADCs with selectable 16‑, 14‑, or 12‑bit resolution and can sample at up to 250 kSPS. They feature true bipolar analog inputs, on‑chip 2.5 V reference buffers, and support both high‑speed parallel and serial (SPI/QSPI/MICROWIRE/DSP) interface modes, including daisy‑chain capability.

These converters are intended for power‑line monitoring, instrumentation, and other high‑performance analog‑to‑digital conversion tasks. Key specifications include low power consumption (140 mW at full speed), 88 dB SNR at 10 kHz, and selectable input ranges of +10 V or +5 V. The devices operate from a 5 V supply and include a standby mode drawing only 25 pW.
