Analog Devices AD96685/AD96687 Datasheet

AD96685/AD96687 are ultrafast voltage comparators. The AD96685 is a single comparator with 2.5ns propagation delay; the AD96687 is an equally fast dual comparator. Both devices feature 50ps delay dispersion and are suitable for high-speed triggers, high-speed line receivers, threshold detectors, window comparators, and peak detectors.

About this manual

The AD96685 (single) and AD96687 (dual) are ultrafast voltage comparators from Analog Devices. They feature a 2.5 ns typical propagation delay, 50 ps delay dispersion, and low power consumption (≈118 mW per comparator). The devices operate from +5 V and –5.2 V supplies and provide open‑emitter outputs that are compatible with ECL logic families.

The datasheet includes electrical characteristics, absolute maximum ratings, pin configurations, ordering information, and mechanical dimensions. It also gives application notes on high‑speed trigger and window comparator designs, as well as layout recommendations for optimal performance.
