This datasheet provides the feature of DS1259 battery management chip, including power management, low power consumption, low voltage drop protection etc.
The DS1259 is a low‑cost battery management system designed for portable and non‑volatile electronic equipment. It supplies power from a battery when the primary VCCI supply is lost, provides power‑fail and low‑battery warnings, and can electrically disconnect the battery on command.
The datasheet lists pin assignments, absolute maximum ratings, recommended operating conditions, and detailed DC and AC electrical characteristics, including leakage currents, output currents, and timing specifications for reset and power‑fail detection.
| Primary Power Supply (VCCI) typical voltage | 5.5 V |
|---|---|
| Input High Voltage (VIH) | 2.0 V |
| Input Low Voltage (VIL) | -0.3 V to +0.8 V |
| Leakage Current (ILO) | 250 µA max |
| Battery Leakage (IBAT) | 100 nA |
| Output Current (IOH) @ 2.4 V | 1 mA max |
| Battery Output Current (IBATOUT) | 100 µA |
| Operating Temperature Range | 0 °C to 70 °C |
The switch occurs when VCCI falls below the trip point VTP, which is 1.26 × VBAT ± 250 mV.
Apply a pulsed input on the RST pin to a high level for at least 50 ns while primary power is valid.
The leakage current is up to 250 µA.
The recommended operating temperature is from 0 °C to 70 °C.
