The DS1813 EconoReset is a power-monitor with automatic restart feature. It will automatically restart the MCU when VCC voltage drops. The device also has an external reset pushbutton.
The DS1813 EconoReset IC monitors a power‑supply voltage and generates an internal power‑fail reset signal when the supply goes out of tolerance. After the supply returns to the acceptable range, the reset output stays active for about 150 ms to allow the processor and power rails to stabilize. The device also supports a push‑button on the reset pin for manual reset override.
The datasheet provides pin configurations for TO‑92 and SOT‑23 packages, absolute maximum ratings, recommended operating conditions, and detailed electrical characteristics such as input thresholds, output current limits, and timing parameters for power‑up, power‑down, and push‑button reset events.
| Operating Temperature Range | -40 °C to +85 °C |
|---|---|
| Supply Voltage (VCC) Range | 0 V to 5.5 V |
| Output Current at 0.4 V (IOL) | 10 mA |
| Voltage Input Low (VIL) | 0.4 V |
| Voltage Input High (VIH) | 0.7 × VCC |
| Reset Active Time (tRST) | 100 ms to 300 ms |
| Pushbutton Detect to Reset (tPB) | 1 µs |
The reset output remains active for approximately 150 ms after VCC returns to an in‑tolerance condition.
A low pulse of at least 1 µs on the RST pin will generate a push‑button reset.
The VCC pin may be driven from –0.5 V to +7.0 V relative to ground.
The device is specified to operate from –40 °C to +85 °C.
