About this manual

The XC6215 Series are highly precise, low‑noise, positive‑voltage LDO regulators designed for high‑density mounting in mobile phones, cordless phones, portable games, cameras, video recorders, AV equipment and PDAs. The device offers a built‑in fold‑back current limiter and an optional CE pin that provides an ON/OFF shutdown function to reduce power consumption to 0.8 µA typical standby current.

Key specifications include a selectable output voltage from 0.9 V to 5.0 V in 0.1 V steps, a dropout voltage of 320 mV at 100 mA, maximum output current of 200 mA (300 mA limit), operating input range 1.5 V–6.0 V, and compatibility with low‑ESR ceramic capacitors. The datasheet also provides pin assignments, electrical characteristic tables, voltage‑setting procedures, test circuits, and power‑dissipation data for the USP‑4, SSOT‑24, USPN‑4 and SOT‑25 packages.

Frequently asked questions

What is the purpose of the CE pin?

The CE pin provides an ON/OFF control; when asserted, the regulator shuts down and the VOUT pin is pulled down to the VSS level.

How is the output voltage set?

The output voltage is set in 0.1 V increments by laser trimming of the internal resistor network.

What is the typical supply current of the XC6215 series?

The typical supply current is 0.8 µA.
