The MAX6668/MAX6670 remote-junction thermal switches with an internal power transistor drive a cooling fan rated for supply voltages up to +12V and 250mA.
The MAX6668/MAX6670 are remote-junction temperature switches that drive a cooling fan when an external P-N junction temperature exceeds a factory-programmed threshold. These devices require no software development and operate from a +3V to +3.6V supply over the automotive temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
The MAX6670 variant includes additional open-drain outputs for warning (WARN) when the temperature exceeds the threshold by 15°C, and overtemperature (OT) shutdown signals at a 30°C excess. Both models feature an integrated fan driver capable of sinking up to 250mA at voltages up to +12V.
