ZORBAX SB-AQ RRHT threaded columns are specially designed for higher pressure operation (up to 600 bar) and are packed with a high-performance microparticulate packing for high-speed reversed-phase HPLC. The StableBond AQ packing is made by chemically bonding a reversed-phase proprietary alkyl group to a specially prepared, high-purity ZORBAX porous silica microsphere. The special ZORBAX silica support is designed to reduce or eliminate strong adsorption of basic compounds. The densely covered, sterically protected stationary phase is chemically stable and gives longer column life. As a result, ZORBAX SB-AQ is a stable, reversed-phase packing that can be used for basic, neutral, or acidic samples. It is particularly well-suited for use with aggressive mobile phases (for example, pH < 2, high ionic strength, ion-pair additives, etc.) since the steric protection of the bonded phase resists degradation caused by such mobile phases. This material has also been shown to be stable when operated at temperatures up to 80 °C. These characteristics are particularly important for use in methods that need long-term stability and reproducibility. ZORBAX SB-AQ is especially suited in applications that use high-sensitivity detectors that require low backgrounds (for example, mass spectrometers). The uniform, spherical, ZORBAX SB-AQ particles have a controlled pore size of 80Å. Columns are loaded to a uniform Agilent ZORBAX SB-AQ RRHT Threaded Column Data Sheet be

The ZORBAX Rx-Sil RRHT threaded column is specially designed for higher pressure operation (up to 600 bar) and is packed with a high-performance microparticulate silica packing for high-speed liquid-solid adsorption chromatography. ZORBAX Rx-Sil particles are produced by the agglomeration of colloidal silica to form spherical particles of uniform diameter and pore size. However, ZORBAX Rx-Sil is specially treated to create a highly homogeneous sur- face throughout the silica support. This homogeneity is achieved by utilizing ultra-high-purity silica (less than 100 ppm total of impurities such as sodium, aluminum, iron, etc.) and by applying patented technology for fully hydroxylating the silica surface. As a result, ZORBAX Rx-Sil can be used for basic, neutral, or acidic samples. It is particularly well suited for use with basic samples, since these solutes can be chromatographed without peak tailing or irreversible adsorption. The uniform, spherical, ZORBAX Rx-Sil particles have a controlled pore size of 80Å. Columns are loaded to a uni- form bed density using a proprietary, high-pressure, slurry-loading technique to give optimum column efficiency.

The document introduces ZORBAX Rapid Resolution High Throughput Eclipse polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) threaded columns designed for the high-efficiency separation of polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons at higher pressure operation (up to 600 bar).

ZORBAX Eclipse PAH columns are designed for the high-efficiency separation of polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons. The columns can be used for PAH separations as well as other compounds that require high shape selectivity. The columns utilize a polymeric C18 bonding phase that provides high selectivity and are built on a specially prepared, ultra-high purity ZORBAX Rx-SIL porous support. These columns can be used for a variety of applications and are compatible with a pH range of 2 to 8.

ZORBAX Bonus-RP Rapid Resolution threaded columns are specially designed for higher pressure operation, up to 600 bar, and are packed with the unique, alkyl-amide Bonus-RP material for the separation of basic compounds. Bonus-RP uses a unique combination of densely reacted, sterically protected diisopropyl-C14 groups covalently bonded through an “embedded” amide functionality to an ultra-pure (>99.995% SiO2; Type B) ZORBAX Rx-SIL silica support. This material is then triple endcapped. This special silica support is designed to reduce or eliminate strong interaction of basic and other highly polar compounds. Bonus-RP shows different selectivity from totally alkyl or aryl stationary phases (for example, Eclipse XDB-C8, XDB-C18, and XDB-Phenyl) and may be a preferred alternative to such phases for separating basic, acidic, and other highly polar compounds by reversed-phase liquid chromatography. The embedded, highly polar amide group of the stationary phase assists in deactivating unwanted silanol interactions, while proprietary endcapping procedures complete the process to deactivate the Agilent ZORBAX Bonus-RP Rapid Resolution Threaded Column Data Sheet chromatographic surface. The more polar nature of this stationary phase usually means that a lower concentration of organic mobile phase modifier is required for compound elution compared to traditional long-chain alkyl stationary phases. This highly deactivated column packing can be used for neutral compounds and polar compounds.

Agilent ZORBAX Eclipse XDB-C8 Rapid Resolution HPLC Column is a high-performance microparticulate C8 packing designed for high-pressure operation (up to 600 bar). Using this column, it can quickly separate acidic, basic, and other polar compounds. This packing consists of 1.8 μm diameter particles with high surface area and high dispersion.

ZORBAX SB-C8 Rapid Resolution threaded columns are specially designed for higher pressure operation (up to 600 bar) and are packed with a high-performance microparticulate C8 packing for high-speed reversed-phase HPLC. The StableBond packing is made by chemically bonding a sterically protected C8 stationary phase to a specially prepared, high-purity ZORBAX porous silica microsphere. The special ZORBAX silica support is designed to reduce or eliminate strong adsorption of basic compounds. The densely covered, sterically protected, diisopropyl n-octylsilane stationary phase is chemically stable and gives longer column life. As a result, ZORBAX SB-C8 is a stable reversed-phase packing that can be used for basic, neutral, or acidic samples. It is particularly well suited for use with aggressive mobile phases (for example, pH < 2, high-ionic-strength, ion-pair additives, etc.) since the steric protection of the bonded phase resists degradation caused by such mobile phases. This material has also been shown to be stable when operated at temperatures up to 80 °C. These characteristics are particularly important for use in methods that need long-term stability and reproducibility. ZORBAX SB-C8 is especially suited in applications that use high-sensitivity detectors that require low backgrounds (for example, mass spectrome- ters).

ZORBAX Eclipse Plus C18 Rapid-Resolution threaded columns are specially designed for higher pressure operation (up to 600 bar) and are packed with a high-performance microparticulate C18 packing for high-speed reverse-phase HPLC. Eclipse Plus C18 columns are designed for superior peak shape with basic compounds and deliver high efficiency and excellent peak shape with all sample types. Eclipse Plus C18 packing is made by first chemically bonding a dense monolayer of dimethyl-n- octadecylsilane stationary phase to a specially prepared, improved ultra-high purity (≥ 99.995% SiO2), ZORBAX Rx-SIL porous silica support. This special ZORBAX silica support (Type B) is designed to reduce or eliminate strong adsorption of basic and highly polar compounds. The bonded-phase packing is then doubly end-capped using proprietary reagents and procedures to obtain maximum deactivation of the silica surface. Eclipse Plus C18 columns can be used for acidic and neutral samples, but are especially suited for separations of basic compounds that produce poor peak shapes on other columns. These columns can be used for a wide range of applications and over a pH range of 2 to 9, accommodating most popular mobile phases. The uniform, spherical Eclipse Plus C18 particles are based on an improved ZORBAX Rx-SIL support that has a nominal surface area of 160 m2/g and a controlled pore size of 95 Å. Columns are loaded to a stable, uniform bed density using a proprietary high-pressure loading device.
