Agilent High Velocity Chromatography of Biomacromolecules Manual
This document introduces a superficially porous, silica-microsphere packing called Poroshell™, which has excellent kinetic properties and enables stable, high-resolution gradient chromatography of biomacromolecules such as proteins, polypeptides, nucleic acids, and DNA fragments at high speed. Poroshell™ packings can be used with conventional equipment without loss of performance. This technology is useful for rapidly monitoring preparative separations of genetically engineered macromolecules, process control monitoring of fermentation broths or cell-reaction systems, quantitation of polymerase chain reaction fragments, monitoring protein conjugation reactions, and similar applications where very fast, reproducible separations are required.

Agilent Direct Connect Liners: Improved Response for Active Compounds Manual
This article introduces the improved response for active compounds using the Direct Connect Liners technique. The Direct Connect Liners is a commonly used inlet for trace compound analysis and splitless injection technique. This technique is rugged, robust, and sensitive as a large portion of the sample is delivered to the column. The key to the technique is vaporization in the inlet, facilitated by the inlet liner. Liners are typically made of straight, deactivated borosilicate glass with a tapered bottom to prevent contact with the metal baseplate of the inlet. Liners with tapers at the bottom and the top are also popular as they provide better containment of the injected sample. This is important for difficult or active compounds that tend to be lost or irreversibly adsorbed in the inlet. These compounds are often highly polar and are typically acidic or basic compounds. In theory, the response factor should be constant and independent of the amount injected. Typically, the response factor (detector signal per weight of compound injected) is smaller at lower concentrations than at higher concentrations. The lowered response is more apparent at small concentrations.

Agilent 220 micro plate sampler with Agilent 1100 Series system for flexible high-throughput HPLC analysis service manual
The Agilent 220 micro plate sampler (MPS) is an essential part of Agilent's system for combinatorial chemistry and high-throughput HPLC analysis. The value of the sampler is in its flexibility. It uses different sample devices and combines high sample capacity, high speed and sampling/fractionation capability in one system. The sampler, together with the Agilent 1100 Series HPLC modules and the Agilent 1100 Series mass selective detector (MSD), makes up a complete system that fulfills the requirements of combinatorial chemistry and high-throughput analysis with its robustness, ruggedness, sensitivity, selectivity and speed. The seamlessly integrated system plus the single software platform—complete with diode array and mass spectrome- try detectors—simplify system setup, operation and management of large amounts of data.
