The MAX9526 is a low-power video decoder that converts NTSC or PAL composite video signals to 8-bit or 10-bit YCbCr component video compliant with the ITU-R BT.656 standard. The device powers up in fully operational mode and automatically configures itself to decode the detected input standard. The MAX9526 typically consumes 200mW of power in normal operation and typically less than 100µW in shutdown mode. An internal 10-bit, 54MHz analog-to-digital converter (ADC) samples the input with four times oversampling. The MAX9526 features a DC restoration circuit with offset correction and automatic gain control to accurately optimize the full-scale range of the ADC. An integrated analog anti-aliasing filter eliminates the need for external filtering. The MAX9526 includes a 2:1 input multiplexer with automatic signal selection based on activity at the inputs. An internal line-locked phase-locked loop (PLL) generates the sample clock and the line-locked clock (LLC) output to provide an ITU-compliant output. Alternatively, the PLL can be configured to provide a sample clock and output clock at 2x and 1x the frequency of the crystal oscillator, respectively. The MAX9526 provides a multiline adaptive comb filter to reduce cross-chrominance and cross-luminance artifacts. A single 1.8V supply is used for both the digital and analog supplies. The digital outputs operate from a separate +1.7V to +3.45V supply to allow direct connection to a wide range of devices.

MAX3814 is a TMDS output device launched by TI company, which has the characteristics of FR-4 board microstrip and cable HF loss compensation, variable output current, selectable partial return termination and 4 channels.

The MAX3816A DDC/I2C extender is designed to compensate for excessive load capacitance of long DVI, HDMI, and VGA cables. It restores signal integrity bidirectionally for both DDC clock and data over cable distances up to 60 meters. The MAX3816A features compensation for cable capacitance up to 3000pF, typically exceeding 5000pF. It detects state-change assertion by the logical 'AND' of the source side and display side, and asserts the new state with a rail-to-rail slew-rate-limited driver capable of meeting I2C rise and fall time requirements. A holdoff period of 2.5µs prevents subsequent state changes while the cable channel settles. The MAX3816A consumes 25mW under full load at 100kbps (excluding pullup resistors) and is available in a 16-pin TSSOP package. It operates from 0°C to +70°C.

The MAX9508 video filter amplifier with SmartSleep and bidirectional video support is ideal for set-top boxes (STBs), portable DVD players, and portable media players (PMPs). The inputs can be directly connected to the digital-to-analog converter (DAC) outputs. The reconstruction filter removes high-frequency signals above 6.75MHz. The amplifiers have 6dB of gain, and the outputs can be DC-coupled to a load of 75Ω, which is equivalent to two video loads, or it can be AC-coupled to a load of 150Ω. The SmartSleep circuitry intelligently reduces power consumption based on the presence of the input signal and the output loads. When the MAX9508 does not detect the presence of sync on the input video signal, the supply current is reduced to less than 7µA. The device only enables a video amplifier when there is an active video input signal and an attached load. The video amplifier remains on while a load is connected. If the load is disconnected, the video amplifier is turned off. The MAX9508 contains three reconstruction filters, four video amplifiers, and a pulldown switch at one of the two CVBS outputs. The MAX9508 has the ability to control the bidirectional video signals at the CVBS video connections without the need for separate switches or relays. This feature is particularly useful for portable DVD players, which often use the same connector to drive a composite video output and to accept an external video signal to display on the LCD panel.

The MAX7457 4-channel video switch is ideal for anti-aliasing and DAC-smoothing video applications or wherever analog video is reconstructed from a digital data stream such as cable/satellite/terrestrial set-top boxes (STBs), DVD players, hard disk recorders (HDRs), and personal video recorders (PVRs). The MAX7457 filters and buffers CVBS and RGB video signals, making it ideal for dual SCART (peritelevision) STBs with an auxiliary CVBS input. The MAX7457 operates from a single +5V supply and has a flat passband out to 5MHz with a stopband attenuation of 43dB at 27MHz, making it ideal for NTSC, PAL, and standard-definition digital TV (SDTV) video systems. The MAX7457 output buffers have a fixed gain of +6dB and are capable of driving two standard 150Ω video loads. The channel for CVBS video has high-frequency boost circuitry that enhances picture sharpness with up to +1.2dB of gain boost without degradation in the stopband. The video output drivers can be disabled by an external control input. The MAX7457 is available in a 16-pin, 5mm x 5mm x 0.8mm TQFN package, and is specified over the extended (-40°C to +85°C) temperature range.
