The MAX2472/MAX2473 are flexible, wideband, high-reverse-isolation buffer amplifiers. The MAX2472 has dual open-collector outputs capable of delivering -5dBm into 50Ω while maintaining harmonic suppression below -25dBc. The MAX2473 has a single open-collector output with a bias control pin to vary output power from -10dBm to -2dBm while maintaining harmonic suppression below -25dBc. The combination of high reverse isolation and low supply current makes the MAX2472/MAX2473 ideal for applications requiring high performance with low power. They feature high input impedance and open-col- lector outputs for maximum flexibility, enabling them to be used with a variety of oscillator topologies. Both the MAX2472 and MAX2473 operate from a single +2.7V to +5.5V supply. With VCC = +3.0V and -25dBm input power, the MAX2472 consumes 5.2mA, while the MAX2473 consumes only 2.7mA. Both devices are avail- able in a tiny 6-pin SOT23 package requiring minimal board space. Applications include Cellular and PCS Mobile Phones, Private Mobile Radios, ISM-Band Applications, IF/RF Oscillators, and General-Purpose Buffers/Amplifiers. The MAX9947 is an AISG-compliant, fully integrated transceiver. The MAX9947 receiver offers a typical dynamic range of 20dB and integrates a bandpass filter that operates in the 2.176MHz frequency with a narrow 200kHz bandwidth. The MAX9947 transmitter integrates a bandpass filter that is compliant with the AISG spectrum emission pro- file. It can modulate OOK signals up to 115.2kbps. The output power can be varied with external resistors from +7dBm to +12dBm to compensate for loss in the external circuitry and cabling. The MAX9947 also features a direction output to facilitate the RS-485 bus arbitration in tower-mounted equipment. The MAX9947 is available in a small, 3mm x 3mm 16-pin TQFN and is rated for operation in the -40°C to +85°C temperature range.

The MAX2511 is a complete, highly integrated IF transceiver for applications employing a dual-conversion architecture. Alternatively, the MAX2511 can be used as a single-conversion transceiver if the RF operating frequency ranges from 200MHz to 440MHz. In a typical application, the receiver downconverts a high IF/RF (200MHz to 440MHz) to a 10.7MHz low IF using an image-reject mixer. Functions include an image-reject downconverter with 34dB of image suppression followed by an IF buffer that can drive an off-chip IF filter; an on-chip limiting amplifier offering 90dB of monotonic received-signal-strength indication (RSSI); and a robust limiter output driver. The transmit image-reject mixer generates a clean output spectrum to minimize filter requirements. It is followed by a 40dB variable-gain amplifier that maintains IM3 levels below -35dBc. Maximum output power is 2dBm. A VCO and oscillator buffer for driving an external prescaler are also included. The MAX2511 operates from a 2.7V to 5.5V supply and includes flexible power-management control. For applications using in-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) baseband architecture for the transmitter, Maxim offers a corresponding transceiver product: the MAX2510. The MAX2510 has features similar to those of the product in this document.

The MAX2850 is a single-chip, 4-channel RF transmitter IC designed for 5GHz wireless HDMI applications. It includes all circuitry required to implement the complete 4-channel MIMO RF transmitter function and crystal oscillator, providing a fully integrated transmit path, VCO, frequency synthesis, and baseband/control interface. It includes a fast-settling, sigma-delta RF fractional synthesizer with 76Hz frequency programming step size. The IC also integrates on-chip I/Q amplitude and phase-error calibration circuits. Dynamic on/off control of four external PAs is implemented with programmable precision voltages. A 4-to-1 analog mux routes external PA power-detect voltages to the RSSI pin. The baseband filtering and Tx signal paths are optimized to meet stringent WHDI requirements. The upconverter local oscillator is coherent among all the transmitter channels. The reverse-link control channel uses an on-chip 5GHz OFDM receiver. It shares the RF synthesizer and LO generation circuit with the MIMO transmitter.

The MAX2839AS is a direct conversion, zero-IF, RF transceiver specifically designed for 2.3GHz to 2.7GHz 802.16e MIMO mobile WiMAX™ systems. The device incorporates one transmitter and two receivers, with > 40dB isolation between each receiver. The MAX2839AS completely integrates all circuitry required to implement the RF transceiver function, providing RF to baseband receive path, and baseband to RF transmit path, VCO, frequency synthesizer, crystal oscillator, and base-band/control interface. The device includes a fast-set- tling sigma-delta RF synthesizer with smaller than 40Hz frequency steps and a crystal oscillator that allows the use of a low-cost crystal in place of a TCXO. The trans- ceiver IC also integrates circuits for on-chip DC-offset cancellation, I/Q error, and carrier leakage detection circuits. An internal transmit to receive loopback mode allows for receiver I/Q imbalance calibration. The local oscillator I/Q quadrature phase error can be digitally corrected in approximately 0.125° steps. Only an RF bandpass filter (BPF), crystal, RF switch, PA, and a small number of passive components are needed to form a complete wireless broadband RF radio solution. The MAX2839AS completely eliminates the need for an external SAW filter by implementing on-chip program- mable monolithic filters for both the receiver and trans- mitter, for all 2GHz and 802.16e profiles and WiBro. The baseband filters along with the Rx and Tx signal paths are optimize for various profiles to achieve optimal performance.
