Agilent Eecovery collection with the Agilent 1100 Series purification system
This Application Note shows three system configurations for recovery collection with the Agilent 1100 Series purification system1,2. One configuration uses a 12-position/13-port valve 3 in the waste line of the fraction collector, which offers up to twelve recovery locations. Another possibility is to use a third-party fraction collector, controlled by the ChemStation through external contacts using a BCD board. The most sophisticated approach, however, is to use a dedicated Agilent 1100 Series fraction collector, which gives complete recovery location tracking with the graphical user interface of the software or in the reports.

Agilent Efficient Screening for Pesticides Endocrine Disrupters Using the 6890/ 5973 GC/MSD System.
This document describes a GC/MS method using RTL technology that allows for the analysis of 567 of the most common pesticides and endocrine disrupters used worldwide. By utilizing the RTL functionality with the 6890/5973 GC/MSD system, a new database containing mass spectra and compound retention times has been developed. When combined with the compound screening tools in the MSD Productivity ChemStation software, data files can be easily, accurately, and quickly screened for the presence of any of the 567 compounds listed in the database. Additionally, the software features enable the detection of compounds that may usually be masked by others.

Agilent Analysis of Fat Soluble Vitamins using HPLC
This article describes the use of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) for the analysis of fat-soluble vitamins. HPLC can separate and detect these compounds at room temperature while blocking oxygen and light. UV-visible diode-array detection provides both qualitative and quantitative data. Electrochemical detection is also a highly sensitive and selective HPLC method. Different food matrices require different extraction procedures, including alkaline hydrolysis, enzymatic hydrolysis, alcoholysis, direct solvent extraction, and supercritical fluid extraction.
