RICOH RP101x Series Low Noise 0.6% Accuracy 300mA LDO handbook

The RP101x Series are CMOS-based LDO regulators featuring 300mA output. RP101x has the supply current as low as 18μA, which is far lower than current products. Due to a built-in transistor with low on-resistance of 0.87Ω (at VOUT=2.8V) , RP101x provides a low dropout voltage. RP101x also has an excellent line transient response, 75dB ripple rejection, and low noise. The output voltage accuracy has been improved to ± 0.6% and the temperature drift coefficient of the output voltage is as low as ± 30ppm/°C.

R1161x Series are CMOS-based voltage regulator ICs with high output voltage accuracy, low supply current, and low ON-resistance. Each of these voltage regulator ICs consists of a voltage reference unit, an error amplifier, resistors for setting output voltage, a current limit circuit, and a chip enable circuit. These ICs perform with low dropout voltage and a chip enable function. To prevent the destruction by over current, current limit circuit is included. The R1161x Series have 3-mode. One is standby mode with CE or standby control pin. Standby mode realizes ultra small consumption current off mode. Other two modes are realized with ECO pin. Fast Transient Mode (FT mode) and Low Power Mode (LP mode) are alternative with ECO pin. Consumption current is reduced at Low Power Mode compared with Fast Transient Mode. Output voltage is maintained between FT mode and LP mode. The output voltage of these ICs is internally fixed with high accuracy. Since the packages for these ICs are SOT-23-5, SON-6 (Limited), and HSON-6 (Limited), high density mounting of the ICs on boards is possible.

The RP202x Series is a CMOS-based auto mode switching LDO regulator with a 200mA output. In auto switching mode, the operation can switch automatically to fast response mode or low power mode of the ECO function according to output current. (Automatic switching to fast response mode under IOUT>8mA conditions or to low power mode under IOUT<1mA conditions.) In low power mode, supply current is as low as 2.5μA. In fast response mode, ripple rejection is 70dB and noise is low. RP202x requires neither ECO pin for switching mode nor microcontroller pin. RP202x supports low voltage, featuring input voltage from 1.4V and output voltage from 0.8V. Standby mode and auto-discharge function are also available. In addition to SOT-23-5 and SC-88A packages, and a 1mm square DFN(PLP)1010-4 are also available. RP202x Series contributes to the downsizing of the hand-held equipment because it can use the 0.47μF ceramic capacitor.

The RP173x Series are CMOS-based voltage regulator ICs featuring 150 mA output and low supply current of Typ.2.0μA. Each of these ICs consists of a voltage reference unit, an error amplifier, a resistor-net for voltage setting, a current limit circuit, a chip enable circuit and a Reverse Current Protection Circuit. RP173x Series are suitable for the power source such as the equipment being in the standby-mode. A version with /CE input pin has reduced CE pull-up resistance to make its supply current ultra low. The RP173x Series have Max.11V Input voltage and are applicable to the portable communication equipment that require the 2-cell Li-ion battery. Also they are applicable to the non-portable communication equipments. As this series includes Reverse Current Protection Circuit, there is little leakage current, if it's used as back-up circuit. Since the packages for these ICs are the SOT-23-5 package, SC-88A, or DFN(PLP)1010-4 of 1mm square, high density mounting of the ICs on boards is possible.
