ON SEMICONDUCTOR MC78M00 MC78M00A NCV78M00 Series 500 mA Positive Voltage Regulators handbook

The MC78M00/MC78M00A Series positive voltage regulators are identical to the popular MC7800 Series devices, except that they are specified for only half the output current. Like the MC7800 devices, the MC78M00 three-terminal regulators are intended for local, on-card voltage regulation. Internal current limiting, thermal shutdown circuitry and safe-area compensation for the internal pass transistor combine to make these devices remarkably rugged under most operating conditions. Maximum output current, with adequate heatsinking is 500 mA.

ON SEMICONDUCTOR NCP1200 PWM Current-Mode Controller for Low-Power Universal Off-Line Supplies handbook

The NCP1200 is a PWM current-mode controller for low-power universal off-line supplies. It is housed in an SOIC-8 or PDIP-8 package, representing a major leap toward ultra-compact switchmode power supplies. The circuit allows the implementation of a complete offline battery charger or a standby SMPS with few external components due to a novel concept. Furthermore, an integrated output short-circuit protection allows the designer to build an extremely low-cost AC-DC wall adapter associated with a simplified feedback scheme. The controller drives low gate-charge switching devices like an IGBT or a MOSFET, requiring very small operating power. Due to current-mode control, the NCP1200 simplifies the design of reliable and cheap offline converters with extremely low acoustic generation and inherent pulse-by-pulse control. When the current setpoint falls below a given value, e.g. the output power demand diminishes, the IC automatically enters the skip cycle mode and provides excellent efficiency at light loads. This occurs at low peak current, so no acoustic noise takes place. Finally, the IC is self-supplied from the DC rail, eliminating the need for an auxiliary winding. This feature ensures operation in the presence of low output voltage or shorts.

ON SEMICONDUCTOR -NCP1010 NCP1011 NCP1012 NCP1013 NCP1014 handbook

This document introduces NCP101X series products. The series integrates a fixed frequency current mode controller and a 700 V MOSFET. It is housed in a PDIP-7, PDIP-7 Gull Wing, or SOT-223 package. It provides soft start, frequency jittering, short circuit protection, skip cycle, a maximum peak current setpoint and a Dynamic Self-Supply (no need for an auxiliary winding). The switching frequency is 65-100-130 kHz. When the current setpoint falls below a given value, e.g. the output power demand diminishes, the IC automatically enters the so-called skip-cycle mode and provides excellent efficiency at light loads. No acoustic noise takes place. Short-circuit detection takes place when the feedback signal fades away, e.g. in true short-circuit conditions or in broken Optocoupler cases. External disabling can be easily done either simply by pulling the feedback pin down or latching it to ground through an inexpensive SCR for complete latched-off.

ON SEMICONDUCTOR -MC74HC4051A MC74HC4052A MC74HC4053A handbook

MC74HC4051A/D, MC74HC4052A, MC74HC4053A are high performance silicon-gate CMOS devices featuring fast propagation delays, low ON resistances, and low OFF leakage currents. These analog multiplexers/demultiplexers control analog voltages that may vary across the complete power supply range (from VCC to VEE). The HC4051A, HC4052A and HC4053A are identical in pinout to the metal-gate MC14051AB, MC14052AB and MC14053AB. The Channel-Select inputs determine which one of the Analog Inputs/Outputs is to be connected, by means of an analog switch, to the Common Output/Input. When the Enable pin is HIGH, all analog switches are turned off. The Channel-Select and Enable inputs are compatible with standard CMOS outputs; with pullup resistors they are compatible with LSTTL outputs. These devices have been designed so that the ON resistance (Ron) is more linear over input voltage than Ron of metal-gate CMOS analog switches. For a multiplexer/demultiplexer with injection current protection, see HC4851A and HC4852A.

ON SEMICONDUCTOR NCP1337 Manual

The NCP1337 combines a true current mode modulator and a demagnetization detector which ensures full Borderline/Critical Conduction Mode in any load/line conditions together with minimum drain voltage switching (Quasi−Resonant operation). The transformer core reset detection is done internally, without using any external signal, due to the Soxyless concept. The frequency is internally limited to 130 kHz, preventing the controller to operate above the 150 kHz CISPR−22 EMI starting limit. By monitoring the feedback pin activity, the controller enters ripple mode as soon as the power demand falls below a predetermined level. As each restart is softened by an internal soft−start, and as the frequency cannot go below 25 kHz, no audible noise can be heard. The NCP1337 also features an efficient protective circuitry which, in presence of an overcurrent condition, disables the output pulses and enters a safe burst mode, trying to restart. Once the default has gone, the device auto−recovers. Also included is a bulk voltage monitoring function (known as brown−out protection), an adjustable overpower compensation, and a VCC OVP. Finally, an internal 4.0 ms soft−start eliminates the traditional startup stress.

ON SEMICONDUCTOR LM2574/NCV2574 Manual

The LM2574 series of regulators are monolithic integrated circuits ideally suited for easy and convenient design of a step−down switching regulator (buck converter). All circuits of this series are capable of driving a 0.5 A load with excellent line and load regulation. These devices are available in fixed output voltages of 3.3 V, 5.0 V, 12 V, 15 V, and an adjustable output version. These regulators were designed to minimize the number of external components to simplify the power supply design. Standard series of inductors optimized for use with the LM2574 are offered by several different inductor manufacturers. Since the LM2574 converter is a switch−mode power supply, its efficiency is significantly higher in comparison with popular three−terminal linear regulators, especially with higher input voltages. In most cases, the power dissipated by the LM2574 regulator is so low, that the copper traces on the printed circuit board are normally the only heatsink needed and no additional heatsinking is required. The LM2574 features include a guaranteed ±4% tolerance on output voltage within specified input voltages and output load conditions, and ±10% on the oscillator frequency (±2% over 0°C to +125°C). External shutdown is included, featuring 60 μA (typical) standby current. The output switch in
