SIROLLCIS SIAS is an online surface quality inspection system produced by Metals Technologies. It can automatically detect defects on steel strip, including inclusions, mechanical damage, scale, repeated defects and coating defects. The detection results can be stored in the form of steel coil reports for operators to view.
The SIROLL SIAS system provides automated, reliable, and precise surface quality control for steel strip products. It uses high‑resolution cameras, optics and illumination to capture images of the strip surface, then processes the images to detect and classify defects such as scale, inclusions, cracks, holes, and coating flaws.
The system is modular and can be integrated into hot‑rolling, cold‑rolling, pickling, annealing and coating lines. Results are displayed in real time on a graphical HMI, stored in an open‑SQL database, and can be accessed remotely via Siemens VAI networks for further analysis and reporting.
