The Joey Dosimeter is a wide-band spectroradiometer used in neonatal phototherapy. It measures the irradiance of the wavelengths of blue light, 425nm – 475nm.
The Respironics Joey Dosimeter is a wide-band spectroradiometer designed specifically for use with neonatal phototherapy devices. It measures irradiance of blue light wavelengths between 425nm and 475nm, peaking at 450nm, in units of microwatts per centimeter squared per nanometer (uw/cm²/nm). The device features a digital display that reads values from 00.0 to 99.0 uw/cm²/nm.
| Wavelength Range | 425nm — 475nm |
|---|---|
| Peak Wavelength | 450nm |
| Measurement Unit | uw/cm²/nm |
| Display Range | 00.0 to 99.0 uw/cm²/nm |
| Battery Type | Single nine volt (9V) nonrechargeable battery |
| Calibration Accuracy | +/-2% or +/- one digit |
The device is designed only for measuring blue light wavelengths between 425nm and 475nm.
Remove the cover on the lower back side, lift out the 9-volt battery, and replace it with a new one before replacing the cover.
It is recommended that the instrument be returned for recalibration annually, or immediately if physically abused.
