Varian EDU-Varian Sample Concentrator Application Note

This document describes a method for analyzing BTEX gas samples using the Varian 490-GC Micro GC. The method uses the EDU Sample Concentrator to concentrate the sample and then injects the sample into the GC for separation and analysis. Using this method, enrichment factors of up to 230 times can be achieved.

About this manual

The Enrichment and Desorption Unit (EDU) Sample Concentrator allows analytes to be adsorbed onto a porous medium before being desorbed and transferred to a Varian 490-GC Micro GC. This method can increase enrichment by more than 230 times, significantly improving detection limits for compounds like BTEX.
