This is a research article that studied the performance of two polymeric strong cation exchange SPE products, the Bond Elut PCX and SampliQ SCX, to determine which product performed better in the retention of acidic, neutral, and basic components in human plasma.
This document presents a technical study comparing the performance of two polymeric strong cation exchange solid phase extraction (SPE) products: Bond Elut Plexa PCX and SampliQ SCX. The evaluation focuses on their ability to retain and recover acidic, neutral, and basic components in human plasma samples.
The study utilized acetaminophen as an acidic component, p-toluamide as a neutral compound, and m-toluidine as a base. Results indicate that Bond Elut Plexa PCX provides significantly better recovery for acidic compounds compared to SampliQ SCX. For neutral and basic components, both products demonstrated similar high recoveries with excellent reproducibility.
| Bond Elut Plexa PCX Part Number | 12108603 |
|---|---|
| SampliQ SCX SPE tube Part Number | 5982-6236 |
| Resin Mass | 60 mg |
Bond Elut Plexa PCX was significantly better than SampliQ SCX for the recovery of acidic compounds.
Neutral and basic component recoveries were 94% and 91%, respectively, showing similar performance between both products.
