Agilent Technologies Instrument Control Framework Technical Overview

This document describes the Agilent Instrument Control Framework (ICF), which is a software component framework that allows third-party software to enable and control Agilent liquid chromatography (LC) systems with chromatographic data systems or workstations. ICF helps laboratories reduce costs, simplify training, and comply with regulations. Users can use their favorite Agilent LCs on non-Agilent data systems by implementing control of Agilent LCs using ICF.

Frequently asked questions

Which Agilent LC series are supported by ICF?

The framework supports the Agilent 1100 Series, 1200 Series, 1220 Infinity, 1260 Infinity LC modules, and 1290 Infinity LC modules.

What is the difference between RC.NET and ICF?

RC.NET defines a standard for implementing hardware drivers on a module level, whereas ICF primarily defines the interfacing for integrating instrument control into an application on an instrument level.
