TEA1096 and TEA1096A are speech and listening-in integrated circuits with features including line interface, interface to peripheral circuits, microphone amplifier, receiving amplifier, and listening-in circuit. They are suitable for line-powered telephone sets with listening-in/line monitoring function.
The Philips TEA1096 and TEA1096A are bipolar ICs intended for use in line-powered telephone sets with listening-in and line monitoring functions. These devices incorporate a line interface, microphone amplifier, receiving amplifier, supply function, loudspeaker amplifier, and dynamic limiter to facilitate speech transmission and reception via the loudspeaker.
| Operating ambient temperature | -25 to +75 °C |
|---|---|
| Line current (normal condition) | 15 to 140 mA |
| Current consumption from VDD (normal operation) | 2.4 to 2.9 mA |
| Stabilized voltage (line interface) | 4.2 to 4.7 V |
| Stabilized supply voltage for listening-in circuitry | 3.4 to 3.8 V |
| Voltage gain from LSI to QLS (listening-in) | 34 to 37 dB |
| Maximum output voltage swing on pin LN | up to 4.3 V peak-to-peak |
The TEA1096 offers an adjustable stabilized supply voltage VBB via input VBA, whereas the TEA1096A offers a fixed stabilized voltage VBB.
On the TEA1096, volume control is achieved via an external potentiometer connected to pin VCI.
