COP472-3 is a liquid crystal display controller produced by National Semiconductor company, which supports 36 segment displays and can drive 3x12 4-digit digital displays or 3x24 8-digit digital displays
The COP472-3 is a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) controller designed as a direct interface to TRIPLEX LCD peripheral members of the COPS family. Fabricated using low power dissipation CMOS technology, it drives multiplexed liquid crystal displays directly by loading data serially and holding it in internal latches. The device contains an on-chip oscillator and generates all multi-level waveforms for backplanes and segment outputs on a triplex display.
