About this manual

The DS2045 is a 1Mb reflowable nonvolatile (NV) SRAM consisting of a static RAM, an NV controller, and an internal rechargeable manganese lithium (ML) battery. Encased in a surface-mount module with a 256-ball BGA footprint, it recharges the battery and powers the SRAM when Vcc is applied. When Vcc is powered down or out of tolerance, the controller write-protects the SRAM's contents and powers it from the battery.

The device is available in two versions providing either a 5% or 10% power-monitoring trip point. It features an internal power-supply monitor output (RST) usable as a CPU supervisor for a microprocessor. Applications include RAID systems, servers, POS terminals, industrial controllers, data-acquisition systems, gaming fire alarms, routers, switches, and PLCs.
