The Xicor X3100 is an Integrated Circuit designed for use in battery packs consisting of 3 or 4 Lithium-ion cells. It provides internal over-voltage, under-voltage, and over-current protection circuitry, along with an internal EEPROM memory and a voltage regulator. The device includes integrated FET drive circuitry to control external MOSFETs for cell charge, discharge, and balancing.
Protection thresholds and detection times can be selected independently via software through a 3MHz SPI serial interface. The IC also allows for the monitoring of battery parameters such as cell voltage and current using an internal analog multiplexer and sense amplifier with selectable gains.
The device is intended for use in battery packs consisting of 3 or 4 Lithium-ion cells.
The circuit offers selectable gains of 10, 25, 80 and 160.
The memory features a minimum of 1,000,000 store operations to the EEPROM.
