This document introduces the features of ADS7866, ADS7867 and ADS7868, three ADS7866 series 1.2-V, 12-/10-/8-BIT, 200-KSPS/100-KSPS, MICRO-POWER, MINIATURE ANALOG-TO-DIGITAL CONVERTER WITH SERIAL INTERFACE. These converters interface with micro-processors or DSPs through a high-speed SPI compatible serial interface. There are no pipeline delays, and the minimum conversion time is determined by the frequency of the serial clock input SCLK, while the maximum frequency is determined by the minimum sampling time.
The ADS7866/67/68 are low power, miniature A/D converters featuring a unipolar, single-ended input. These devices operate from a single 1.2-V to 3.6-V supply and utilize an SPI-compatible serial interface for communication with micro-processors or DSPs.
Key features include high throughput rates up to 200 KSPS for the 12-bit version (ADS7866), synchronized conversion, no pipeline delays, and auto power-down functionality to save energy. The converters are available in a 6-pin SOT-23 package and are characterized over an industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
