This document describes the features and characteristics of the ST93C46 series 1K-bit serial EEPROM products, including 1 million erase/write cycles, 40 years data retention, dual organization, self-timed programming cycle, etc.
This document provides specifications for the ST93C46A, 46C, 46T, 47C, and 47T series of 1K bit serial microwire EEPROMs. These devices are fabricated using SGS-THOMSON's High Endurance Single Polysilicon CMOS technology and offer a choice of dual organization: 64 x 16 bits or 128 x 8 bits, selectable via the ORG input.
Key features include an erase/write cycle endurance of one million cycles with 40 years of data retention. The devices support byte/word and entire memory programming instructions with a self-timed programming cycle that includes auto-erase functionality. They operate on a single supply voltage ranging from 3V to 5.5V for the 'C' versions, or 4.5V to 5.5V for the 'A' version.
| Capacity | 1K bit (64 x 16 or 128 x 8) |
|---|---|
| Endurance | 1,000,000 cycles |
| Data Retention | 40 years |
| Supply Voltage (ST93C47) | 3V to 5.5V |
| Supply Voltage (ST93C46) | 4.5V to 5.5V |
| Programming Time | Typical 5ms |
The memory is organized as either 128 bytes x 8 bits or 64 words x 16 bits.
Organization is selected by a signal on the ORG input; connecting it to ground selects x8, while leaving it unconnected or connecting to Vcc selects x16.
