About this manual

The bq29410, bq29411, and bq29412 are secondary overvoltage protection integrated circuits designed for 2-, 3-, or 4-cell lithium-ion battery packs. These devices incorporate a high-accuracy precision overvoltage detection circuit with a programmable delay time to prevent false triggering during pulse charge operations.

The chips feature fixed overvoltage thresholds of 4.35 V, 4.40 V, and 4.45 V respectively for the bq29410, bq29411, and bq29412 models. When a cell voltage exceeds the threshold, an internal current source charges an external capacitor connected to the CD pin. Once the voltage at this pin reaches 1.2 V, the OUT pin activates to trigger an external N-channel FET that blows an external fuse in the positive battery rail.
