MAX4060/MAX4061/MAX4062 is a differential-input microphone preamplifier optimized for notebook and PDA audio systems. These devices feature adjustable gain with excellent power-supply rejection and com- mon-mode rejection ratios, making them ideal for low- noise applications in portable audio systems
The MAX4060/MAX4061/MAX4062 are low‑noise differential‑input microphone preamplifiers optimized for portable audio applications such as notebook PCs, tablets, and PDAs. They provide adjustable gain (or a fixed 10 V/V gain for the MAX4060), rail‑to‑rail outputs, high power‑supply rejection (86 dB) and common‑mode rejection (70 dB) at 1 kHz.
These devices include an internal microphone bias generator and a complete shutdown mode that reduces supply current to 0.3 pA for ultra‑low power operation. They are offered in space‑saving 8‑pin Thin QFN, 8‑pin UMAX, and 10‑pin UMAX packages and operate over a wide voltage range (2.4 V‑5.5 V or 4.5 V‑5.5 V for the MAX4060).
| Supply Voltage (MAX4060) | 4.5 V to 5.5 V |
|---|---|
| Supply Voltage (MAX4061/MAX4062) | 2.4 V to 5.5 V |
| Fixed Gain (MAX4060) | 10 V/V |
| Shutdown Current (MAX4061) | 0.3 pA |
| Supply Current (typical) | 750 µA |
| Common‑Mode Rejection Ratio (CMRR) | 70 dB at 1 kHz |
| Total Harmonic Distortion + Noise (THD+N) | 0.04 % at 1 kHz |
| ESD Protection (AUX_IN) | 4 kV |
The MAX4060 operates from a 4.5 V to 5.5 V single supply.
In shutdown mode the MAX4061 draws only 0.3 pA.
The datasheet specifies a THD+N of 0.04 % at 1 kHz.
