This product is a zero insertion force socket, which can be inserted or removed without any force, and all pins can be contacted through test point holes.
The Series 526 LO-PRO Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) socket lets 24, 28 or 40‑pin components be inserted and removed without any force, preventing leg damage. A metal cam gives smooth, positive‑stop motion that compresses double‑sided contacts for a gas‑tight seal, and test point openings allow access to all pins.
The socket features a black UL 94‑0 glass‑filled nylon body, beryllium‑copper alloy contacts, and a lightweight zinc‑alloy cam. It supports Tin, Tin/Lead, Matte Tin and Gold plating, operates from –67°F to 221°F (–55°C to 105°C) for tin finishes, and offers a 2 A contact current rating, 10 mΩ max resistance, 1000 VAC breakdown voltage, and 110 g retention force when closed. Recommended PCB hole size is .035 in + .002 in.
