About this manual

The AMS1084 family provides adjustable and fixed low‑dropout voltage regulation with a maximum output current of 5 A and dropout voltage guaranteed at 1.5 V at full load. Features include 0.015 % line regulation, 0.1 % load regulation, and a 1.25 V reference voltage. The devices are offered in TO‑220 and TO‑263 (plastic DD) packages and operate from –40 °C to 125 °C.

These regulators are suited for high‑efficiency linear regulation, post‑regulation of switching supplies, microprocessor power, battery chargers, and portable instrumentation. They are pin‑compatible with older three‑terminal regulators and include internal short‑circuit protection and thermal shutdown.
