MAX1908/MAX8724/MAX8765 are highly integrated multi-chemistry battery-charger control ICs that simplify the construction of accurate and efficient chargers
The MAX1908, MAX8724 and MAX8765 are highly integrated, multi‑chemistry battery‑charger control ICs that simplify the design of efficient chargers. They use analog inputs to control charge current and voltage and can be programmed by the host or hard‑wired. The devices feature input‑current limiting, monitoring outputs for AC adapter current, charging current and adapter presence, and a conditioning‑charge feature on the MAX1908.
These ICs support two to four series Li+ cells, deliver more than 5 A, and are offered in a space‑saving 28‑pin thin QFN package (5 mm × 5 mm). The data sheet provides absolute‑maximum ratings, detailed electrical characteristics, pin configuration, package information and recommended layout guidelines.
