This document introduces the features of XM28C040, including high density, 4 megabits, 512Kx8, access time, base memory component, pinout, fast write cycle times, early end of write detection, data polling, toggle bit polling, software data protection, three temperature ranges, high reliability modules, all components are MIL-STD-883 compliant, endurance.
The XM28C040 is a high‑density 4 Megabit (512K × 8) E²PROM module built from four X28C010 ceramic devices. It operates from a 5 V supply, supports 256‑byte page writes, and offers fast write cycles (≈39 µs/byte) that can rewrite the entire array in about 10 seconds. The module conforms to JEDEC pinout standards and is MIL‑STD‑883 qualified.
The device includes hardware and software data‑protection features, DATA and Toggle‑Bit polling for write‑status monitoring, and three temperature‑range options (Commercial, Industrial, Military). Packaging is a 32‑pin dual‑inline module on a stretched ceramic leadless carrier.
