The AP1510 is a PWM control 3A step-down converter with an input voltage range of 3.6V to 23V and an output voltage range of 0.8V to VCC. The converter has an internal PWM control circuit that can vary the duty cycle linearly from 0% to 100%. It also has over current protection and short circuit protection. When OCP or SCP occurs, the operating frequency will be reduced from 300kHz to 30kHz. Additionally, an internal compensation block is built in to minimize external component count. With the addition of an internal P-channel Power MOSFET, an inductor, capacitors, and a diode connected externally, these ICs can function as step-down switching regulators. When coupled with the SOP-8L package, they serve as ideal power supply units for portable devices, providing such outstanding features as low current consumption.
