About this manual

The PIC18F2458/2553/4458/4553 family are high‑performance 28/40/44‑pin USB microcontrollers with 12‑bit A/D converters, nanoWatt power technology and USB 2.0 compliance. They support Low Speed (1.5 Mb/s) and Full Speed (12 Mb/s) USB transfers, include an on‑chip USB transceiver, and offer power‑managed modes such as Run, Idle and Sleep.

Key features include up to 32 USB endpoints, 1 KB dual‑access RAM for USB, a 12‑bit, up to 13‑channel ADC, multiple timers, capture/compare/PWM modules, high‑current I/O (25 mA), and flexible oscillator options. Devices are offered in 28‑pin SPDIP/SOIC, 40‑pin PDIP/QFN and 44‑pin TQFP packages, with standard voltage (4.2‑5.5 V) and low‑voltage (2.0‑5.5 V) options.
