About this manual

The MAX5156 and MAX5157 are low‑power, dual‑channel, 12‑bit voltage‑output DACs that operate from a single +5 V (MAX5156) or +3 V (MAX5157) supply. They feature rail‑to‑rail output swing, a 3‑wire serial interface compatible with SPI/QSPI and Microwire, and programmable shutdown with a 2 µA quiescent current.

These devices are offered in 16‑pin QSOP and DIP packages and are suited for industrial process control, motion control, digital offset/gain adjustment, and 4–20 mA current‑loop applications. Detailed electrical characteristics, timing diagrams, and pin descriptions are provided for system integration.
